A child’s horoscope
So the Moon plays an indispensable role in the upgrowing child. Therefore the placement of the Moon is by far the most important factor in a child’s chart. In its way of functioning, a child will predominantly show its Moon. Only after puberty, a more stable sense of individuality can take the helm. In our interpretation, this shift of emphasis should be taken into account.
Adults
In women, however, the influence of the Moon remains noticeable until menopause, for example in mood changes and the body’s water balance. In men, the influence of the Moon is most noticeable in his emancipation in relation to the mother figure, as well as in the energetic tension that he radiates.
Both in men and in women, the full maturing of the Moon function comes down to an increasing sensitivity of the Lunar membrane while retaining one’s inner stability. In this sense, the capacity to endure stress can also diminish as one advances in years.
With advancing years
As we get older, the Moon’s influence is on the wane. We are less susceptible to moods and less affected by changes in circumstances. The distorting influence of the Moon also decreases; gradually she becomes less re-active and more transparent.
Yet at the same time, the Moon’s plasticity also diminishes, as does the working of the thymus gland. Our memory starts to operate differently as its storage capacity is reduced. New developments are not taken in as easily as before, and all known and familiar behavior increasingly turns into automatisms. As our body tissues lose their moisture, our power of resistance also declines. Our recuperative power slows down and our senses begin to fail us. Saturn now takes the lead, bringing stiffness and wrinkles, but also equanimity and quiet maturity.
Tradition
Slowly but gradually, we are now gaining a deeper understanding of the Moon. Her traditional image can be easily recognized in these insights.
Yet here at Inner Sky, we have taken the Moon’s satellite position as our departure point to describe her various characteristics. Although this approach differs from the traditional perspective, we still see the same overall image emerge. This is not only remarkable, it is also reassuring: The core meanings that traditionally have been assigned to the Moon turn out to be consistent and traceable. In other words, we are now reaping the harvest of consistently following our line of thought!
